Ian Jeanneret :: Photography

"I love this natural world we live in - the colours and textures, the sky, the trees, the rocks, the sea... My photos are simply reproductions of the beauty I see all around us every day. The extraordinary within the ordinary. It is my desire to share that beauty, whether it is the leaves collecting in a gutter or the myriad of colours as the sun puts itself to bed."

Ian Jeanneret studied photography in the early 1980s while working as a lab technician. He then worked for a number of years as a commercial photographer before pursuing a range of other interests.

It was while sailing the Carribean and the Pacific for 4 months in 2004 that Ian's passion for photography was reignited. Since then he has done more travelling and exhibited his work in a variety of venues. In November 2007 he held his first solo exhibition, 'Miscellanea'. Ian's photographs have been sold to collectors worldwide.

Ian has an ongoing exhibition at Fritto Misto restaurant at Lauderdale, Tasmania and has recently opened a gallery in Hunter Street, Hobart with four other nature photographers.

He currently uses a Canon 1DS MkII digital camera to capture images at high resolution. This enables very large prints to be made that retain sharpness, accurate colour and clarity.

Those images are printed on an Epson 9600 printer which is capable of printing media up to 44" wide x 40' in length. This printer uses Ultrachrome pigment inks and produces extremely high quality archival prints.

All of Ian's prints are made on Hahnemuehle Digital Fine Art paper. This award winning paper is acknowledged worldwide as being of the highest standard. Hahnemuehle is the first choice for many of the world's fine art photographers and digital artists.
